AccuGrit Ltd, a leading winter maintenance service provider, based in Suffolk, has this month been awarded three different ISO certifications by Alcumus ISOQAR, one of the most recognised and respected UKAS accredited certification bodies.
AccuGrit met the extensive criteria of these standards through a highly planned strategy, continually proving the business’s commitment to reliably delivering quality services to clients. The certifications awarded are ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems), and ISO 45001 (Health & Safety Management).
Dean Harvey, Managing Director, commented, “Since launching Accugrit in 2019, achieving the ISO certifications has been one of the key phases of our growth. We recognised early in the development of the business the importance of trust in the relationship with clients and prospects, so we wanted to not only say we had high standards and processes but to prove our calibre through recognised accreditations. We were audited on all aspects of the business, and I am proud we can finally say we are not in the process of gaining the recognitions but have achieved the certifications. My congratulations to Leonie, our Office Manager and the wider team for guiding us through the process.”
The ISO 9001 certification sets out the criteria for a quality management system and is based on several quality management principles, including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. Using ISO 9001 will help ensure that our customers get consistent, good quality products and services, bringing many business benefits.
The ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) is a systematic framework to manage the immediate and long-term environmental impacts of AccuGrit’s products, services, and processes. By completing ISO 14001 certification, our business can ensure clients and prospects that our environmental management system meets international industry-specific ecological standards. Taking care of our environment and preventing our company from causing negative impacts on the ecosystem are two principles the AccuGrit team consistently strive towards.
Finally, the ISO 45001 is the world’s international standard for occupational health and safety, issued to protect employees and visitors from work-related accidents and diseases. ISO 45001 certification was developed to mitigate any factors that can cause employees and businesses irreparable harm. Its standards result from the tremendous effort by a committee of health and safety management experts who looked closely at several other approaches to system management — including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
Achieved through audits performed by Alcumus ISOQAR, an independent accredited registrar company, the ISO certifications are standards internationally agreed by leading experts and aim to enhance customer satisfaction by effectively applying a company’s system, including processes for continual review and improvement.
About AccuGrit Ltd:
Founded in 2019, Accugrit was formed to provide a specialist service and focus solely on winter maintenance services, rather than multiple areas of ground maintenance, and this enables us to focus on innovations and developments in the industry to deliver a higher quality service that is more effective, efficient, and environmentally friendly so that we can provide unrivalled customer satisfaction.
In addition, with innovation at the heart of AccuGrit, the leadership team spent time in the USA before the business was launched (because they have consistent winters so are naturally more progressive) to research plus meet with peers to find out what could be learned and brought back to the UK.
As a result, AccuGrit has introduced into the UK industry-leading winter maintenance technology and state-of-the-art machinery. Combined with utilising accurate weather forecasting from a company based at the University of East Anglia, plus real-time reporting, AccuGrit can today proudly boast it is making an impact in the industry to help keep premises up and down the UK safe and accessible in winter.
