Five Minutes With… Leonie Dorling, Office & Systems Manager.

Leonie Dorling

Following on from Dean in last months ‘Five Minutes With…’ was never going to be an easy task, so it is a good job we have the brilliant Leonie to call upon in the AccuGrit team.

Diligently working on projects such as ISO certification and the schedules for the new Kickstarters joining the business in summer, we got Leonie to take a break to find out what life at AccuGrit is like and in the process discovered we have a bit of an action woman in the team.

Hi Leonie, start off by describing your role at AccuGrit.

I am the Office & Systems Manager which means that I am responsible for all admin within the business, ensuring that our clients have the best possible delivery of our services. I am also currently working through the documentation to gain certification with 3 x ISO’s so we can continue to improve our processes and procedures.

Sounds like you are busy, so what have you gained from working at AccuGrit?

After a period away from work to raise my family, I’ve become “me” again, not mum or wife but Leonie Its nice to be able to progress with my career again after having two children and with the help and support from Dean, be able to have my career back! The knowledge I have gained from working here is amazing, it truly is a great team to be part of and an office full of smiles!

If ISO certifications are not enough to keep you busy, tell us about your involvement with the Kickstarter Scheme.

The new starters will work under me (Office Manager) and I am currently putting together a full schedule where I will train them in all aspects of the business. I am really looking forward to helping someone find their/a path in life and to show them what a great team we have here at AccuGrit.

What would you do (for a career) if you were not doing this?

Who knows the world would be my oyster! Something office-based and busy, I worked in transport for 14 years prior to having children so probably something along those lines.

Lastly, tell us a bit about yourself, what do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I love to spend time with my family and two young children, bike rides, walking, going away in our caravan or down to Devon, we are very much an outside family. I also love motorbikes and hoping to get another one day soon (sold mine when I had my firstborn).  I am also a qualified Scuba Diver and like to dabble in a bit of photo editing in Lightroom and Photoshop.
